891 SUSPENSION ON THE YAMAHA

891 SUSPENSION & PERFORMANCE

TJ took a photo of my bike ready to go.

Grandpa and I just picked up my Yamaha from TJ Bronson of 891 SUSPENSION located in Sandy, Utah.  I was spending spring break with grandpa and grandma with my sister, Katie, my cousin Presley and my girlfriend Piper down in Mesquite, Nevada.  We left early Friday morning and drove from Mesquite to Sandy just to pick the bike up.  I'm really excited to see the difference but still have a couple more weeks to get my strength back from the broken Fibula and muscle tear.

891 Suspension & Performance

OUT LAST THE COMPETITION WITH 891 SUSPENSION

What is 891 suspension & performance?

When I talk with other guys at the track I came to a conclusion that 891 Suspension & Performance is the best place to get the best set up for your dirt bike. With a specialty in suspension, TJ knows all the in's and out's to make your dirt bike handle better and believe me, safer!

TJ will build each set of suspension to match your skill level, bike, and discipline.

TJ also provides a wide range of services to help keep you out there riding. TJ has helped me with new tire installation, new tubes, new chain installation and new sprocket installation.  He can also do whole motor rebuilds and he knows what he’s doing.

I know now that my problem with my brand new 2021 Yamaha YZ250F was suspension. I found out that most any handling issues can be fixed with basic suspension adjustments or in my case a rebuild to adjust for my size and weight.  I should have done the adjustments right when I got the new bike.  I might not have crashed and broke my leg.

From my point of view ask yourself; have you experienced any of these symptoms on your dirt bike during a race or ride?

Your rear wheel won’t track a line properly?

Your front wheel won’t track a line properly?

You’re losing some stability at high speeds?

You find that your front wheel won’t stay planted?

You’re finding that the rear wheel bucks too much?

Or even that your front end feels saggy and unresponsive?

I found out that my Yamaha bike’s stock suspension was tuned to work for a variety of riders and riding styles for a guy who might only weigh around 170 pounds; that didn’t work for me being over 5’11” and around 250 without gear. It’s a great mid-range setup for most guys that will get you out on the track with ease, but once you start pushing those stock settings you’ll often find they’re lacking in most of the critical areas. New bikes from brands like Yamaha are known for being well-balanced right out of the box, but I now know that even that new suspension will need a tune-up for a lot of riders.

So, my bike is done.  My broken leg is healed.  In a couple of weeks it’s time to test the new suspension from TJ at 891 Suspension.  Yeah, I’m excited.

PIVOTRAX MX TIRES

WOW! I just received my first PIVOTRAX MX tire today and should be getting the other tire sometime tomorrow when I get home from school.  I'm going to try to get them mounted before this weekend.  I'm totally excited to try these out.  They sound amazing!  ...and they sent them to me just to try them out; okay, I can do that.😏

THE PIVOTRAX TIRE STORY
PIVOTRAX is born from Apexway Products Corp., a Taiwanese company with more than 40 years of experience on the tire industry.

This year we have decided to go a step further and design motocross tires especially for you. It is our enthusiasm and passion what drives us to do what we are good at.

THE PIVOTRAX PROMISE TO EVERY DIRT BIKE RIDER
We’re determined to bring you across all tracks you choose to tread. We don't plan on changing the way you ride. Rather, we are giving you a better way to conquer unknown terrains every time you start your engine.

Our tires have been designed to endure the uncertainty and harshness of dirt bike racing. Grip, traction, balance, even tire tread noise have been optimized for support, better handling, and ultimately your safety.

Each is tested to perform impeccably on mile-long trails, be it on mountains, deserts, beaches, and forests even smoothly paved routes. We see to it that they are ready for both motocross and endurance tracks.

We continue to explore tires with different patterns, strength, and hardness made of different compounds suitable for various tracks and terrains.

As soon as I get the second tire and mount them I'll post a review on how they handled on my 2017 Honda CRF450R at the track.

Here are the tires mounted.  They were great on the track.  I really felt the difference with the new Pivotrax MX Tires and I love them.

The guys from ProAction really helped me out at the Mesquite race.  I had no way of mounting the tires at the track so right before practice and my first moto ProAction mounted the tires.  Thanks guys.

AND HOW DID THEY HOLD UP ON THE TRACK?

WON THE HOLESHOT WITH THE PIVOTRAX MX TIRES SO I WOULD SAY PRETTY DARN GOOD PLUS HOLDING THROUGH THE CORNERS AND DEEP RUTS; AMAZING!
