2017 HONDA CRF450R *SOLD*

A great guy just bought my 2017 Honda CRF450R that my grandpa and I had for sale.  It's kind of a funny feeling when you sell a bike you've been riding.  The first bike I sold was a pit bike then the 2005 Honda CRF450R.  I really liked the '05.  We sold that to a great guy from Leeds, UT.  He is really happy with the bike and mainly just trail rides through the mountains behind his house in Leeds.  The guy who bought the bike today was another great guy.  He's going to dental school in Arizona but is from outside Rigby, Idaho.  He and his friend went to school together at BYU, Idaho; should still be Ricks.  This bike has so much power since the rebuild.  He got a great bike and a great deal.  Okay, I'll miss it but I've got my new 2021 Yamaha YZ250F Monster Edition to ride and really excited about the new suspension from 891 Suspension.  Broken leg is feeling pretty good; still hurting from time to time and chomping at the bit to get back on the bike and ride.

A great ride and super fast.  Bye, bye Honda:)

FASST COMPANY - FLEXX BARS

Yahoo!  My grandpa just picked up the new Fasst Company Flexx bars for my 2021 Yamaha YZ250F.

On my next trip down to Mesquite I'll be mounting them on the bike.  I'm also finishing up adding the graphics to my all black ACERBIS plastics that I'll also be putting on the bike.  Yeah, I'm excited!

New Flexx bars, new ACERBIS plastics, new graphics, brand new rebuilt 891 Suspension, new rear aluminum sprocket, new chain and a mended non-broken leg.  I'm ready for my first practice at the Mesquite MX track next weekend.

The following is copied and pasted from their website:
Precise In The Steer Path, Forgiving In The Load Path.  FASSTCO
To maintain a traditional feel while absorbing abuse and catastrophic impacts. Tunable to your preferences through our assorted elastomers, you control how soft or stiff the Flexx Handlebar is.

We focus on two areas at Fasst Company; The first is absorbing abuse without sacrificing control or feel. The second is ergonomics. We spend more time on ergonomics than any other brand. Between these two areas of focus, it's surprising how much comfort can be added to your time on the bike.

Features
Controlled and Consistent - Laterally, Flexx Handlebars are extremely stiff which makes them precise in the steer path, meaning you do not have to “steer” through the abuse reduction mechanism
Tunable - You control how soft or stiff the bar is. With a properly set up Flexx Bar, you’ll never feel the bar moving but you will feel increased control and improved comfort.
Dramatically reduces vibration - Our pivot pin is wrapped in a proprietary bushing that isolates the handles from any metal to metal contact, drastically minimizing vibration right from the start.
American Made - We take pride in bringing you the only handlebar Made in America. Constructed out of 7000 series aluminum; employing the latest technology in CNC machining and extrusion methods, our handlebars are made with the utmost hands-on precision and care.

Need help selecting the best bar bend for you and your preferences? We'd love to help! Please call (877) 306-1801 or email.

Notable Dimensions:
-On dirt bikes we see a big range of bar bends, most common back sweeps being either a 10 degree, 12 degree, or 14 degree. Traditionally a taller rider will benefit from a straighter bar, it opens the ergos up and allows more operating room. Inversely, a smaller rider will appreciate a bar with a little more back sweep to tailor the ergos to a shorter wing span.

-Our Enduro bar is 31 inches wide. Our Moto bar is 32 inches wide.

-Our Low bar is 63mm tall, this bar has to be ran with a sub mounted steering damper. It was designed to offset the height and bring you back near stock bar height.

-Our standard height bar is 92mm tall. Our tall bar is 116mm.

What's in the box
Black handlebar pad
3 sets of Compression Elastomers
2 set of Rebound Elastomers

891 SUSPENSION ON THE YAMAHA

891 SUSPENSION & PERFORMANCE

TJ took a photo of my bike ready to go.

Grandpa and I just picked up my Yamaha from TJ Bronson of 891 SUSPENSION located in Sandy, Utah.  I was spending spring break with grandpa and grandma with my sister, Katie, my cousin Presley and my girlfriend Piper down in Mesquite, Nevada.  We left early Friday morning and drove from Mesquite to Sandy just to pick the bike up.  I'm really excited to see the difference but still have a couple more weeks to get my strength back from the broken Fibula and muscle tear.

891 Suspension & Performance

OUT LAST THE COMPETITION WITH 891 SUSPENSION

What is 891 suspension & performance?

When I talk with other guys at the track I came to a conclusion that 891 Suspension & Performance is the best place to get the best set up for your dirt bike. With a specialty in suspension, TJ knows all the in's and out's to make your dirt bike handle better and believe me, safer!

TJ will build each set of suspension to match your skill level, bike, and discipline.

TJ also provides a wide range of services to help keep you out there riding. TJ has helped me with new tire installation, new tubes, new chain installation and new sprocket installation.  He can also do whole motor rebuilds and he knows what he’s doing.

I know now that my problem with my brand new 2021 Yamaha YZ250F was suspension. I found out that most any handling issues can be fixed with basic suspension adjustments or in my case a rebuild to adjust for my size and weight.  I should have done the adjustments right when I got the new bike.  I might not have crashed and broke my leg.

From my point of view ask yourself; have you experienced any of these symptoms on your dirt bike during a race or ride?

Your rear wheel won’t track a line properly?

Your front wheel won’t track a line properly?

You’re losing some stability at high speeds?

You find that your front wheel won’t stay planted?

You’re finding that the rear wheel bucks too much?

Or even that your front end feels saggy and unresponsive?

I found out that my Yamaha bike’s stock suspension was tuned to work for a variety of riders and riding styles for a guy who might only weigh around 170 pounds; that didn’t work for me being over 5’11” and around 250 without gear. It’s a great mid-range setup for most guys that will get you out on the track with ease, but once you start pushing those stock settings you’ll often find they’re lacking in most of the critical areas. New bikes from brands like Yamaha are known for being well-balanced right out of the box, but I now know that even that new suspension will need a tune-up for a lot of riders.

So, my bike is done.  My broken leg is healed.  In a couple of weeks it’s time to test the new suspension from TJ at 891 Suspension.  Yeah, I’m excited.
