#Mesquite MX Practice in the Hot Sun

My grandpa and my grandma picked me up in Payson, Utah yesterday and I'm going to spend a couple of weeks with them in Mesquite.  They left Mesquite at 5:00 am in the morning and picked me up at around 10:30 am and they turned around and drove another 4 hours to get back home.  I love those guys.  Oh, yeah, my sister Katie decided to come down as well.  With school online my sister and I still have to complete our homework assignments but it is fun to get away.

Everybody thought it would be a good idea for me to get away for a while because one of my good friends took his life a couple of days ago.  Life is tough for young people and having no school and being stuck at home is depressing.  I'm pretty sad and I'm going to miss him.  He was going through some tough times with his parents divorced; his dad in Colorado and his mom in Springville, Utah.  I hope other kids learn from this and try to get help before deciding to end it all.  Somebody always cares and if you hear of somebody talking about it make sure to tell somebody who can help; Please.

Anyway the first thing I did this morning, Tuesday, April the 28th, was get my gear on and took a ride at the #Mesquite MX Track.  I needed this.

Where I live in Utah it's still pretty cool and even snowed a couple of weeks ago so when I started riding this morning it was really hot.  It was over 90° at 9:00 am.  I don't have any light colored riding gear so the all black was soaking in the heat.

I struggled quite a bit because the track was rock hard.  The ruts were really deep and like concrete molds.  My pegs were scraping through all of the turns.

Even though my tires are good I couldn't get any traction.

I needed the practice because racing should start back up sooner or later.  #RMX Racing just sent out an email saying that they will re-post the schedule around May 19th.  Everything up to that point has been cancelled.
